Achievement Under Adversity
Have you achieved academic success while overcoming difficult circumstances? Do you have excellent potential with limited or no financial resources? The Achievement Award Program at UC Berkley offers up to $5,700 annually to committed, enthused applicants who are willing to help pre-collegiate students in prep programs. Outstanding Hispanic Students
Are you an outstanding Hispanic college junior or senior pursuing a degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration? The HSF/Citigroup Fellows Program awards $5,000 for each of your junior and senior years for a total of $10,000 toward your higher education.
You must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident of Hispanic heritage enrolled in a four-year accredited institution. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required and you must attend college in Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay Area as well as select other cities and states. Federation Members
Are you a member of the California Scholarship Federation? Up to 50 finalists and 5 regional winners receive a total of $88,000 annually from the California Scholarship Federation Seymour Award. Latino Students
California scholarships for Latino students provide essential funds for college. If you are seeking to enter the medical or healthcare profession, the Alice Newell Joslyn Fund awards between $500 – $2,000 per academic year. Students must be living in or attending a high school or college located in San Diego.
The LAFS Cal State University San Marcos (CSUSM) General Scholarship is for Latino students enrolled at CSUSM for a minimum of 6 units. Applicants must be in good academic standing with a GPA of at least 2.0. California Broadcasters Association
The California Broadcasters Association (CBA), a non-profit corporation, is California’s radio and television broadcaster. The Association’s Board of Trustees awards two $1000 scholarships for radio and two $1000 scholarships for television each semester.

Allied Health Careers
The CAPPS (California Associate of Private Postsecondary Schools) Scholarship Program will award four $5,000 scholarships to students in CAPPS Member Schools. If you show promise in allied health fields or aesthetics, cosmetology, and massage, this is a scholarship for you. Visit www.cappsonline.org to find out if you attend a CAPPS Member School. You must be a United States citizen residing in California to qualify for these scholarships. You also have to submit a 1-2 page essay with your application along with three letters of recommendation.

California Department of Health Care Access and Information(HCAI)
The Health Professions Education Foundation offers a number of scholarships and loan repayment programs for health professional students and grads. Program recipients provide direct patient care in a medically underserved area for one to four years. Current health professionals accepted or enrolled in an accredited California college are eligible to apply for these awards.
Most applications require documentation of prior academic performance, work experience, community involvement, career ambitions, financial need, and the ability to commit to practicing in a medically underserved area.
