Sun-ny Arizona

We already indicated Arizona is a sunny state. Did you know there are SunStudent College Scholarships for seniors graduating from high schools in Arizona? Phoenix Suns Charities offers ten $1,000 scholarships annually through SunStudent College Scholarship Program.

You must be an Arizona high school student with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better and evidence of community or charitable involvement. Applicants must compete a 300-word typed essays and include two recommendations with their application. One letter must be from a high school administrator or teacher. Accounting Majors

Do you love numbers and want to pursue an accounting career? The Arizona CPA Foundation High School Scholarship can help you pay for the costs of higher education. In the 2010-2011 year, the Foundation will award a total of $25,000 in scholarships to students attending accounting programs at one of the four public Arizona universities. Accounting majors must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and follow other eligibility criteria. There are scholarships for high school students, university juniors and seniors, African Americans and future CPAs attending community colleges. Honor Students

Doesn’t a tuition waiver sound wonderful? If you’re an Arizona stellar student, it’s a possibility through the Arizona Board of Regents High Honors Tuition Scholarship. Imagine going to college for free! This dream is a reality for qualified Arizona students for in-state tuition only. The waiver is valid for a year following high school graduation. This fixed scholarship is renewable for three more years based on university criteria. The dollar amount of the award is based on the tuition charged by the Arizona university you enroll in.

To qualify for an Arizona Board of Regents High Honors Tuition Scholarship you must complete all core competency classes with a grade of B or better, have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5 and surpass standards on all 3 AIM tests by the end of your junior year in high school. For Excellence

The Arizona Scholarships for Excellence are offered at the University of Arizona. If you are an outstanding high school student, you can receive $2,000 to $14,000 with possibly a MacBook thanks to Arizona Scholarships for Excellence. ACSF

The Arizona College Scholarship Foundation (ACSF) at http://www.azcsf.org/scholar-programs/scholarship-eligibility.aspx gives scholars up to $6,000 annually to cover the cost of attending college. ACSF scholarship recipients also enjoy a network of support services such as group training and workplace and on-campus mentoring. Applications are distributed through ACSF partner organizations at spring info sessions and not ACSF itself. Students must be recommended by one of the ACSF partner organizations to be eligible to receive a scholarship for up to four years of college attendance. Homeschoolers

If you were homeschooled, there is an Arizona scholarship for you. In 2000, the Arizona Families for Home Education (AFHE) formed the Arizona Homeschool Scholarship Committee (AHSC).
